short story with moral: THE CAP-SELLER AND THE MONKEYS

There lived a cap-seller in a village. He used to go to a city to sell his caps. On the way there was a forest. Once he went to sell his cap. He had a bundle of caps hanging from his shoulder. It was a very hot day in summer. He felt tired. He thought of taking rest. He placed the bundle of caps under a tree and fell asleep.

There lived some monkeys on the tree. They saw a man sleeping below with a big bag. They climbed down the tree. They untied the bundle. Each of them put a cap on its head and climbed up the tree.

After some time, the cap-seller got up. He found the bundle missing. He looked up. He thought of a plan. He took off his own cap and threw it down on the ground. All the monkeys imitated. They, too, threw away the caps on the ground. The cap-seller collected them and went away.
